With just two employees, our members play a vital role in maintaining our facilities and ensuring an enjoyable environment for all. New members are required to join work parties twice a year which creates the perfect opportunity to meet fellow members and integrate into our close-knit community.

Ready to get started?

  1. Meet Us: Email the office to arrange a tour and chat with our Membership Secretary. You’ll get a firsthand look at the facilities and can ask any questions you may have.

  2. Sponsors: All new members are required to have their application signed by two sponsors who are EHYC members. The Membership Secretary may be able to introduce you to some friendly Club members you can get to know.

  3. Fill Out the Application Form: Once completed, email or mail your application to us.

  4. Entrance Fee Payment: Send a cheque payable to EHYC for the entrance fee - payment must be included before applications can be processed. Entrance fees can be paid in full or in two equal instalments with a 10% finance charge.

  5. Nomination: Your membership application is posted for 30 days after which time you will be nominated for approval at an Executive Meeting.

  6. Welcome: We will confirm your nomination and welcome you as our newest member of Eagle Harbour Yacht Club.

Membership categories.

  • Active members are 19 years of age or older and are entitled to vote, hold office, have moorage space for one yacht, and storage space for one tender, one dingy, and two eco-boats. Active members are also entitled to participate in social events, and share in the distribution of assets upon dissolution. Seniority is determined by membership number.

  • Intermediate members are 19 years of age, but not older than 25. They are entitled to have moorage space for one Intermediate Boat (less than 16ft), storage space for one eco-boat, and participate in social functions. Intermediate members have seniority determined by membership number as though an Active member, however they cannot vote, hold office, or share in the distribution of assets upon dissolution.

  • Associate members are 25 years of age or older and can participate in social functions, storing one dinghy or eco-boat, flying the club burgee, and entering races as members of the club. Obtaining transfer to Active membership is available upon request and the payment of the appropriate fee, which is the current entrance fee for Active members less the Associate membership fee previously paid. Seniority is acquired from the date of transfer.

  • Non-resident members shall be Active members who, while living on Vancouver Island, on the Gulf Islands or on the Sunshine Coast or in such areas from Whistler north, from Hope east or from the U.S. border south, wish to maintain an association and seniority with EHYC. Non-resident members shall not be entitled to maintain moorage, vote, hold office, or share in the distribution of assets upon dissolution.

  • An Active member may convert to Retired status by resigning Active membership. A Retired member may participate in social functions, fly the club burgee, and enter races as members of the club. They shall not be entitled to maintain moorage, vote, hold office nor share in the distribution of assets upon dissolution.
