EHYC will be hosting an essential course for boaters who have a VHF radio and DSC (DSC stands for Digital Selective Calling), a technology that allows users to send distress messages and other radio communications digitally. It's a key part of the Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDS).
It is a must to have this certification and to understand the protocols when operating a VHF.
When: Thursday, March 20th, 6:30-9:30 PM

E-publication student notes: $110.00 - this is preferred. The book can reside on your hard drive or cloud storage.
Printed student notebook: $135.00 - this is logistically more challenging to distribute.
Students attending for refresher/audit: N/C
Students will be required to do home study before the evening of the class!
At the class, the instructor (Lynn Meisl) and assistant(s), will run through a PowerPoint Presentation and answer questions to ensure everyone is prepared to write the exam
After the PPP, students will write the exam and complete an individual oral exam with student and instructor.
Temporary certificates will be given as proof of completion until the permanent certificates arrive from our National Office (Power Squadron Canada).
For EHYC members and their family. We will open up registration to friends and WVYC if space allows.
